- Your settings, high scores, replays, coins and animals are saved only on your device.
- We (the developer) never receive any of your data.
- Ads come from Google AdMob. They are family-safe and not personalised, and the game cannot read your device's advertising ID.
- Purchases go through Google Play. We never see your payment details.
- Global high scores use Google Play Games. They are optional, and the whole game works without them.
Who we are
Hop hop! is a jungle climbing game for Android made by PolarLabs Studio ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Hop hop! app on Google Play (package com.polarlabsstudio.hophop).

What the game stores on your device
The game saves a few small files in its own private storage on your phone. They never leave your device, and we cannot see them.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Settings | Sound volumes, controls, screen orientation, touch button options, accessibility choices, the animal you picked, and the name you last typed for the high score table. |
| Local high scores | Your top 10 runs per game mode, with the name you typed (up to 12 characters) and the run's score, floor and combo. |
| Replays | Recordings of your runs (your button presses), so you can watch them again. Recent runs, runs you saved and runs in your high scores. |
| Coins and animals | Your coin balance and the animals you bought with coins. |
| Purchases | Which paid items you own (Remove ads, premium animals), so they still work when you are offline. |
| Scores waiting to send | Only if you use global high scores: your best score, floor and combo per board, kept until they reach Google Play Games. |
| Player pictures | Only if you use global high scores: the profile pictures of players shown on a global board are saved by Google's Play Games tools so the board can show them. |
The name you type for the high score table is only used on your device. It is never sent anywhere. A nickname works just as well as a real name.
The game has no analytics, no crash reporting of its own and no trackers. Apart from the Google services described below, it does not connect to the internet.
Ads
The free game shows a full-screen ad now and then between runs (never during play). The ads come from Google AdMob, a service of Google.
- Family-safe: every ad request is marked as directed at children and under the age of consent, and asks only for ads rated G (suitable for all ages).
- Not personalised: ads are not based on your interests or on what you do in other apps.
- No advertising ID: the game removes Android's advertising ID permission, so neither the game nor AdMob can read your device's advertising ID through it.
- To show an ad and to prevent fraud, Google's ads software still receives some technical information, such as your device's IP address (which can hint at your rough location), basic device and app information, and how you interact with the ad (for example, whether it was shown or tapped). Google also uses a consent tool before ads load, to check whether a privacy message is needed where you live.
- We never send AdMob any of your game data, your typed name or any Google Play Games data.
Google handles this information under its own rules. See the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
If you buy Remove ads, the game stops starting Google's ads software altogether.
In-app purchases
You can buy optional items: Remove ads and premium animals. The game plays fully without them.
- Purchases are made through Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment. We never see or store your card or payment details.
- The game asks Google Play which items you own when it starts (and when you tap Restore purchase), and saves that list on your device so your items work offline.
- Google Play keeps your purchase history in your Google account under the Google Privacy Policy.
On Android, a parent can require approval for purchases in Google Play's settings or with Google Family Link.
Global high scores (Google Play Games)
If the game's global high scores are available on your device, it can use Google Play Games to show worldwide leaderboards. This is optional: everything else in the game works the same without it.
- If your device is signed in to Google Play Games, the game may sign you in automatically when it starts.
- When you are signed in, the game sends your score, floor and best combo from each finished run to Google Play Games. Google stores them with your Play Games player ID and shows them with your Play Games display name and profile picture.
- The global board shows other players' display names, scores and profile pictures, which Google's tools save on your device while the board is shown.
- Your Play Games data is handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. It is never used for advertising and never passed to AdMob.
How to stop or delete it
- To stop using Play Games with Hop hop!, sign out or disconnect the game in your Google Play Games settings (or in your Google Account's connected apps list). The game keeps working with local high scores.
- To delete Play Games data, use the options in your Google Play Games settings or your Google Account at myaccount.google.com.
Children's privacy
Hop hop! is made for everyone, including children. We designed it to collect as little as possible:
- We do not ask for or collect any personal information, and we have no accounts or servers where it could be stored.
- Ads are child-directed, rated G, not personalised, and do not use the advertising ID.
- There is no chat, no messaging and no way to share content with other players.
- Google Play Games is optional. Children under 13 (or the age set in their country) can only have a Play Games profile if a parent approves it through Google Family Link.
If you are a parent and have a question, or think your child's information has reached us somehow, email hophop@mail.edqvist.io and we will help.
Keeping and deleting data
- On your device: the game's files stay until you uninstall the game or clear its storage (Android Settings > Apps > Hop hop! > Storage > Clear storage). Either one deletes them for good. You can also delete single replays in the game.
- Purchases: Google Play keeps your purchases in your Google account, so you can restore them after reinstalling.
- Google data: data held by Google (ads, purchases, Play Games) is kept and deleted under Google's policies. You can manage it with Google's tools at myaccount.google.com and in the Google Play Games settings.
- We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to keep or delete.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU and EEA under the GDPR, the UK under the UK GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, to object to or limit its use, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
- Because we do not collect or receive personal data, we usually have nothing to give out or delete. Your on-device data is under your control (see above).
- For data held by Google, use Google's tools or contact Google as described in the Google Privacy Policy.
- We do not sell your personal information, and the game does not use it for personalised (cross-context behavioural) advertising.
- You can always email us and we will answer your questions and help where we can.
Security
The game's own files stay in its private storage on your device, which other apps cannot read. Everything the Google services send over the internet (ads, purchases, Play Games) is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) by Google's software.
Changes to this policy
If the game changes how it handles data, we will update this page and its effective date before the change reaches the game. If a change is important, we will also mention it in the game's update notes on Google Play.
